Support Legislation For Term Limits In Mississippi

Add your name below to the list of supporters of Senator Chris McDaniel’s effort to bring Term Limits to the Mississippi Legislature.

It is past time for our state to implement Term Limits in order to reform state government. Too many of our elected officials in the legislature are content with the current state of affairs and protect a growing government bureaucracy whose primary goal is self preservation.

Mississippians don’t want elected officials to partner with bureaucrats and lobbyists. They want them to take seriously the job of oversight. It shouldn’t be about looking for ways to spend more money, but whether government agencies are actually performing with the money they currently receive.

Senator McDaniel’s legislation, Senate Resolution 545, would limit a person to “no more than two successive terms in the Mississippi House of Representatives or in the Mississippi Senate. Four years after the expiration of the second term, a person may be elected again to the other house for two terms, but shall not serve more than a total of sixteen years.”

Term Limits is a step toward citizens becoming part of the solutions that address the needs they see in their communities every day.

For our state to succeed, we must have bold leadership willing to make strong decisions. Term Limits will encourage new engagement from citizens and it will require candidates to discuss in detail the policies they support and why.

Support Term Limits - SC 545

Please add my name to the list of supporters of Senator Chris McDaniel's effort to bring Term Limits to the Mississippi Legislature. I agree that it is past time for our state to implement Term Limits in order to reform state government.
